My craftroom makeover is progressing well thanks to the skills of Cheryl Hillen Piotrowski, Stampin' Up Demonstrater and organizer extraordinaire. After new flooring was installed, we had a blank slate and began by placing the furniture back in the room and thinking of functional zones. Cheryl helped me sort and purge all of the greeting card and craft supplies before putting them back into the room. She encouraged me to label everything and make it look nice as well. I purchased black photo storage boxes to contain envelopes and will buy more to hold the wood mounted rubber stamps currently sitting on the shelf. I purchased the spinning tower for older Stampin' Up ink pads and the stacking units for new SU ink pads. My cutting and embossing table is on the back wall that is not pictured. A closet in the room holds finished greeting cards, sewing and craft supplies, wrapping paper and ribbon. I still need a rolling chair and I also have office supplies and memorabilia to sort through. It is a work in progress and I am grateful for Cheryl's expert help!

I can’t say enough about what a positive experience this has been. I’d honestly been a little hesitant, because I consider myself to be a fairly organized person. But, I was frequently frustrated with how quickly my organizing would end up a mess and how it just didn’t feel as good as I wanted it. Cheryl is such a calm and organized person in general - she really makes you feel confident that you can handle this! She is very thorough and efficient. When I realized that I needed the services of an organizer, to help with many projects in my home, I dragged my feet for quite sometime. I was very positive with my sister about finding someone, but I was feeling far too uncomfortable about attempting it myself.
This person would see how I really “lived”. The good, the bad, and the ugly (shall we say I am quite the collector of things). I felt so vulnerable even thinking about it.
I had decided to interview at least 2-3 organizers. Cheryl was the first one. I have learned to “go with my gut”, and I knew right away that she was my person for these daunting tasks. No further interviews were needed.
We scheduled our appointments, and hit the ground running. Her work ethic is amazing. How can someone be so warm, while still staying so focused on major undertakings? Her enthusiasm and outstanding ideas about how to tackle these projects, were just what I needed.
When I was completely overwhelmed looking at my “homework” (what I was to do before our next appointment), I found myself thinking like a student who wanted to please my teacher! I would plow through the task.
I will say that the photo project, nearly did me in! I am our family archivist. Along with my own, I have (now had), more than a few thousand loose photographs to deal with. On a positive note, it was a nostalgic walk through memory lane. I am blessed to have had this experience. It is not over. This task will be ongoing, but Cheryl helped me with a very doable plan, and that is what made all of the difference.
She is so good at what she does! She is not overwhelmed, in the face of a kitchen island completely covered with the contents of a pantry closet and a couple of drawers, and she knows how to move someone in the right direction to “sort it out".
For me one of the best parts of doing all of this, is that my things now have “a home”. I am keeping the areas that were such a nightmare, picked up and things are in their place. What a relief to have so much order! The stress relief is so welcomed. I once told her that it was a better feeling, than getting my teeth cleaned!
Though almost all of my major projects have been taken care of, I will still have her come over for some fine tuning. I am missing our many interactions! She still keeps me motivated, even when she isn’t here, as I can see that keeping things sorted out is possible. (My most daunting task is ahead… I am a paper hoarder. If I have received anything that is on paper, I most likely still have it. The good news is, because of Cheryl, I WILL be tackling this dreaded project and have set a personal goal to have it under control by the end of July. (Uh, oh, I’ve done it now! It’s in writing!! Gotta do it!)
Cheryl will give you her ideas, expertise, and plans. She will listen, and alter the plan, if you think something may work better a certain way for you in your home. I could not have dreamed of a better experience. My advise to anyone considering hiring an organizer, is to call Cheryl immediately and be brave and take the plunge!

Working with Cheryl has been amazing!!! After I first hired her (before we actually started), I remember thinking to myself...did I make I mistake? I mean, I can do this all myself...its not rocket science...and I'm already somewhat organized....But I am so very happy and thankful I did...b/c honestly...yes, I can do this myself...but the real question is....will I ever get around to actually doing it?? That answer is a quick no! B/c life gets in the way and the organizing priority gets pushed to the back burner! Not only did Cheryl motivate me and give me the push I needed...she has amazing ideas I never would have thought of myself...and these ideas are practical, efficient, and easy...and most importantly not expensive!!! Initially, she came to consult with me and after I showed her my areas of concern she came up with a very organized action plan that would keep us on track the entire time, but it also offered flexibility if along the way we discovered needs I hadn't initially considered. Cheryl does a fantastic job of utilizing every single minute of the time I hired her for too...whenthings needed to be relocated to another area in the house, she literally ran them there :) And when we were in the middle of a project and our time was up for the day...she grabbed a granola bar and kept on working and didn't leave me in a middle of the pile of stuff that still needed to be organized that I would have to look at and stress about until our next scheduled meeting. Another major perk that she offers is that when I came across stuff that I knew I no longer needed, but yet always held on to b/c I was going to someday sell it on Facebook or in a garage sale she would take it with her and use her resources to sell it...therefore I even made a little money back, which helped me cover the cost of hiring her...and I no longer had to look at the stuff, which would have ended up just going to the back of the closet again...a total win win!!! I would highly recommend Cheryl to anyone...I have already started recommending Cheryl to all my friends and family!! And I plan to continue to use her on an as needed basis whenever I need to re-catch the organizing bug :)

Cheryl helped me find the right piece of storage when I moved into my new house. She showed me pictures of some options for a cube storage shelf and then helped find boxes that were the right size, my style, and matched the room.
